One of the great side benefits of cooking with kids is their willingness to try new things. Things we buttoned-up adults would never attempt because they are yucky, gross or too weird.
This page was my son's idea, a place to capture all their strange suggestions and share them with you. It sometimes tests my courage, but....who knew?
1. Yogurt & Turkey. An inspired sandwich topping. See our Yogwich post.
2. Grapes & syrup. A breakfast discovery. A few days later, I came across a recipe for grape pie and another for pan-roasted grapes.
3. Ground pepper & Oatmeal. Informed by my son that this after-school snack inspiration was de-licious, I gave it a (cautious) try. He's right.
4. Ground pepper & ricotta. It's not so strange to put pepper flakes on your pizza, but we were out. I couldn't believe the flavor boost the ricotta gave the pepper.
5. Apple slices (honey crisp) and lime juice: We had some sliced apples on the table with our fish taco ingredients and wouldn't you know it, but the apples and the limes were next to each other...
